Joshua, aged 6 was referred to us by Acorns Children’s Hospice from our Hospice Wish Scheme. Joshua is a very happy boy and is known by everyone for always smiling. At the age of 3, Joshua was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and visits the hospital frequently to receive treatment by physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
Joshua loves watching WWE wrestling and collects all the wrestling figures. Inspired by superheroes, he enjoys spending time with his little brother and friends imitating superhero adventures. Having Duchenne muscular dystrophy means time away from school and playtime and requires 24-hour holistic care. He has regular hydrotherapy sessions at Acorn Children’s Hospice and requires daily medication.
Joshua wished for a laptop to keep him company when he visits the hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice. The laptop will give him access to watch his idols and help him enhance his creativity to motivate him during challenging times.
A laptop will help Joshua to relieve some stress and promote fun in his life, so that’s exactly what we delivered, a gaming laptop. Joshua can also use his laptop to complete his schoolwork and communicate with his teacher to progress in his education.
