We were very lucky this year to have been invited to this prestigious event that took place on 22nd May, hosted by Tamworth Round Table.
The night was attended by Dandi the mascot and Leigh our fundraising officer. Not knowing what to expect, they left feeling humbled by the inspirational people that filled the room and felt a great honour to be a part of the evening. Not to mention incredibly impressed by all of the hard work from Tamworth Round Table to make this night the success it is every year.
It was an emotional evening listening to all the amazing nominees and everyone of them deserved to be there and recognised for their impact within the local community.
Some light relief in the way of party games and karaoke were definitely appreciated around the room and only added to the evening.
As part of the entertainment was a good old game of ‘heads and tails’, where we discovered Round Table Children’s Wish would be receiving 50% of the proceeds.
A fantastic £860 was raised from the generous donations of everyone in the room. However, Tamworth Round Table had pledged to round up whatever amount was raised to the nearest £100, then match that amount. This meant £900 was due to come our way, or so we thought!
We soon discovered that a sponsor of the evening had a quiet word with the Round Table team! He wanted to round up the totals, meaning we were given a fantastic sum of £1000!!
Round Table Children’s Wish would like to say a huge well done to all the nominees and all the winners from the evening. Every single one of you are a credit to Tamworth.
Also a massive congratulations to Tamworth Round Table for putting together such an impressive night. Especially taking time to remember that members of round table are never paid for their hard work, its purely done by giving up their spare time to volunteer!
Finally a big thank you to everyone for their generous donations on the night, for Tamworth Round Table for matching the amount raised and for Andy Farrington of Bradley Scott Windows for rounding up the final total, this money is vital to our work and will go towards making even more poorly children’s dreams come true!
